Our work

Latin America and the Caribbean

Guerilla groups continue to pose an imminent threat in this region. With an increase in the displacement of thousands of people and persistent feuds among leaders, violent extremist groups hold a sturdy footing. Other challenges result from porous borders, established smuggling routes and limited law enforcement capabilities. The primary obstacles and threats in the region overall is the lack of regional cooperation, unstable governance and the lack of legislation and resources.

Our focus is to support youth-led peacebuilding organizations in reintegration efforts of former guerilla fighters, while also expanding research and innovative approaches to tackle gender-specific issues. We aspire towards a holistic and whole-of-society approach to CVE and to enhance existing rehabilitation and reintegration programs.
