Research on the Role of Educational Institutions in Building Resilience of Adolescents to Radicalisation and Violent Extremism in the Kyrgyz Republic

This report presents findings of the research on the role of schools and residential institutions in building the resilience of adolescents to radicalization and violent extremism in Kyrgyzstan.

The research was conducted in all seven provinces of Kyrgyzstan covering: ten schools piloting a new subject, “History of Religions” (pilot schools), twelve schools with no such a subject (non-pilot schools), and two residential institutions.

It was conducted from May 2019 to November 2019 by a team of researchers affiliated with the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia. The overall project was supported by the STRIVE Global program, funded by the European Union at Hedayah.
