This program supports literacy in Arabic and basic religious knowledge in 95% of the national mosques (including in rural areas and prisons).

The aim is to prevent extremist ideologies within families.

  • 87% of 1.8 million beneficiaries (from 2000 to 2014) are women.
  • In 2015, 89% of the 251,559 beneficiaries of the first level of the Literacy program were women; likewise, 98% of the 41,375 beneficiaries of the second level of this program were also women.
