Hedayah Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Maldives
With the honorable presence of H.E. Mohammed Al Bowardi, U.A.E. Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Hedayah, the International Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), signed a memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Maldives.
Hedayah Chairman, H.E. Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi and the Defence Minister of the Maldives, H.E. Uza. Mariya Ahmed Didi signed the memorandum on the margins of the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2019 in Abu Dhabi. H.E. Obaid Al Hayri Salem Al Ketbi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Security and Military Affairs of the U.A.E., H.E. Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the U.A.E. Ministry of Defence, and H.E. Maqsoud Kruse, Executive Director of Hedayah, also attended the signing of the memorandum along with other distinguished representatives from both governments.
This memorandum will further deepen Hedayah’s cooperation and coordination with the government of the Maldives to develop effective CVE programs. It will also expand Hedayah’s efforts in supporting the country in areas of de-radicalization, rehabilitation and reintegration, counter-narratives and strategic communications, returning foreign terrorist fighters and other pertinent countering violent extremism issues.
