PVE-E Capacity Building Program for South Asia

Hedayah conducted a regional capacity building workshop on PVE through Education (PVE-E) in Sri Lanka. During the workshop, Hedayah presented its capacity-building curriculum on PVE-E, raised awareness of the three main pedagogies (Social and Emotional Learning, digital and media literacy, and safe spaces for dialogue), as well as elicit interest from South Asian countries on follow-up implementation at the national level. Participating countries included Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India.
The workshop was funded by the Commonwealth Secretariat and co-organized with UNDP. The workshop also saw the participation of H.E. Chandrika Kumaratunga, former president of Sri Lanka. It was followed by a side event convened in coordination with Club De Madrid and the Commonwealth Secretariat where Former President of Slovenia H.E. Danilo Turk also participated. At the end of the workshop, delegations produced country action plans on how to integrate PVE-E in their existing policy and programmatic efforts.
