JOB SCOPE

Hedayah is the leading international organization dedicated to utilizing its expertise and experience to counter violent extremism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations. Established in 2012, Hedayah was founded in response to the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum (GCTF) and the wider international community’s call for an independent, neutral, and multilateral center focused on dialogue, communication, capacity-building programs, research, and analysis. As a leader in the counter extremism community, Hedayah enhances understanding and shares best practices to effectively build the capacity of counter extremism actors worldwide, promoting tolerance, stability, and security.

The Senior Associate assigned to work on reporting, and outreach will play a central role in ensuring coherence, quality, and alignment of all program-related communications, reporting, and outreach across Hedayah’s Programs Department. Working directly with the Director of Programs, the Senior Associate coordinates content, messaging, and documentation across different program teams to enhance internal consistency, external visibility, and stakeholder engagement. The role bridges communications, reporting, knowledge management, and program coordination, supporting strategic outreach and contributing to the effective implementation and growth of Hedayah’s programs.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Strategic Coordination & Departmental Support
  • Support the Director of Programs in aligning communications, reporting, and outreach efforts across all program streams.

  • Coordinate contributions from program teams to speeches, presentations, talking points, briefs, and donor-facing content, or support relevant program leads in the development of such materials.

  • Facilitate program, cross-program and whole of organization communication, ensuring consistency in messaging, terminology, and representation of Hedayah’s work.

  • Support departmental planning, timelines, and coordination of cross-departmental initiatives.

  • Assist in strengthening the Programs Department’s systems, processes, and internal communication flows.

  1. Reporting, Documentation & Data Presentation
  • Draft, review, and edit a variety of program-related reports, including case studies, highlights, activity reports, donor reports, and summaries of program outcomes.
  • Consolidate and analyze program implementation data in coordination with the MEL Officer to support preparation of periodic or ad hoc reports, including the Annual Impact Report.
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity in the presentation of program data, indicators, and results.
  • Attend and report on relevant internal and external meetings, trainings, and events to capture key insights.
  • Develop high-quality documentation, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and internal quality standards.
  1. Communications, Outreach & Stakeholder Visibility
  • Draft or update content for Hedayah’s corporate website and social media platforms related to program achievements.
  • Translate technical and programmatic information into engaging communications products.
  • Support stakeholder visibility by developing speeches, briefings, presentations, and case studies that highlight program impact and donor contributions.
  • Work with Corporate Communications to ensure alignment between program messaging and organizational branding.
  • Represent Hedayah at external meetings, trainings, and events when required.
  1. Program Support, Research & Content Development
  • Contribute to the development and execution of specific program activities, including drafting proposals and concept notes, work plans, logical frameworks, and final reports.
  • Support the preparation, implementation, and follow-up of program activities, including trainings, workshops, and outreach events.
  • Contribute to curriculum and content development for capacity-building programs, including presentations, facilitator notes, and related materials.
  • Conduct desk research and contribute to knowledge products related to program areas.
  • Engage with partners on specific aspects of program activities, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Develop and generate content in Arabic and English.
  1. Knowledge Management & Internal Information Systems
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of centralized repositories for reports, publications, and program documentation.
  • Ensure effective retention, organization, and utilization of program knowledge across teams.
  • Help maintain institutional memory by ensuring accurate and accessible documentation of program outputs.
  1. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support the development and strengthening of strategic relationships under the guidance of the Director of Programs.
  • Ensure that communications and reporting products reinforce positive stakeholder engagement and accurately reflect program impact.
  • Contribute to outreach strategies to enhance visibility of Hedayah’s programmatic work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • An advanced university degree in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Public Policy, Journalism, Social Sciences, Terrorism Studies, International Development, or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in program reporting, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, knowledge management, program coordination, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and editing high-quality reports, donor deliverables, briefing papers, speeches, concept notes, and other strategic documents.
  • Experience coordinating inputs from multiple teams and producing consolidated reports and communications products.
  • Experience working with international organizations, government entities, or donor-funded programs is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE), counterterrorism, peacebuilding, governance, or related thematic areas is desirable.
  • Experience supporting donor reporting, program communications, or outreach activities is an advantage.

Languages:

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Arabic is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional language, such as French or Russian, will be considered a strong advantage, reflecting Hedayah’s current geographic portfolio and operational priorities.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • This is a full-time position based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
  • Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
  • The successful candidate will be required to travel internationally, as necessary.
  • The role requires a high standard of written communication, confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to represent Hedayah professionally with governments, donors, and international partners.
  • Flexibility to support high-level meetings, international events, and reporting deadlines outside standard working hours may occasionally be required.
