H.E. Kruse will chair the Board, composed of 12 governments, supporting their collective guidance and contributions to the continued success and sustained impact of Hedayah.

H.E. Maqsoud Kruse played an instrumental role in establishing Hedayah in 2012 as its Founding Executive Director. During his tenure, he shaped the organization to achieve the vision as the world’s first independent international institution dedicated to integrating research and practice in countering extremism and violent extremism. His return as Chairman reflects both the historical foundations of the Centre and its continued evolution. As Chairman of Hedayah’s International Steering Board, H.E. Kruse returns to work alongside the team at Hedayah, in support of our collective endeavour to counter extremism and violent extremism through programs, research, resources, and advice that equip governments and civil society to design, implement, and monitor effective and sustainable terrorism prevention approaches.

Currently serving as the United Arab Emirates’ Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Countering Extremism and Terrorism, H.E. Kruse brings more than 25 years of distinguished experience across international, governmental, and strategic leadership roles. His expertise and longstanding commitment to prevention and resilience will further strengthen Hedayah’s global mandate in advancing its vision of achieving a progressive global reduction in extremism and violent extremism.

We look forward to working under his leadership in guiding the next chapter of Hedayah’s work, strengthening international cooperation, and further advancing collective efforts to build more resilient and inclusive societies worldwide.

Hedayah also extends its gratitude and thanks to the outgoing Chairman, H.E. Dr. Ali Rashed Al Nuaimi, whose dedication, guidance, and support shaped Hedayah’s ambition, development, and evolution.
