AI for Counter Extremism

As the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) grows across all sectors of society, this Hedayah research brief on “Artificial Intelligence for Counter Extremism’, examines how AI may be responsibly leveraged to support terrorism prevention efforts.

The repot underlines that while terrorist exploitation of AI remains largely experimental at present, it is expected to grow and adapt over time.  The report offers a balanced, evidence-based analysis of both the risks associated with AI misuse and the opportunities it presents to strengthen counter-extremism efforts.

The research draws from a comprehensive literature review of 52 key publications and five expert roundtables convened by Hedayah with leaders from academia, government, the tech sector, and civil society organisations.
