On 12 and 14 July 2016, Hedayah and the Global Center on Cooperative Security launched the book “A Man’s World? Exploring the Roles of Women in Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism” in New York and Washington D.C., U.S.A, respectively. The publication is a collection of short essays from various perspectives reflecting on the roles women play in terrorism, violent extremism and efforts to prevent and counter violent extremism.
At the Washington, D.C. launch, H.E. Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador of the U.A.E to the U.S. and Ambassador Melanne Verveer, Executive Director of Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security expressed their support for the book and highlighted the crucial roles women play in peace and security efforts.
In New York City, H.E. Lana Nusseibeh, U.A.E. Ambassador to the U.N. expressed her strong support for the work conducted by Hedayah and the Global Center on Cooperative Security as thought leaders on the subject.
